Microsoft Elevate AI Skilling Program Empowers Trainers
Taita Taveta National Polytechnic successfully hosted a two-day Microsoft Elevate
AI Skilling Program training under the Jitume Initiative on Tuesday 12th and
Wednesday 13 th May 2026 last week, bringing together trainers for practical and
hands-on Artificial Intelligence (AI) learning sessions.
The training focused on equipping trainers with emerging digital and AI skills aimed
at enhancing teaching, innovation, and digital transformation within learning
institutions. Facilitated through collaborative partnerships under the Jitume
program, the sessions provided participants with practical exposure to AI tools,
digital content creation, productivity technologies, and modern approaches to
digital learning.
The program seeks to empower trainers with future-ready skills that can be
transferred to students, helping bridge the digital skills gap while preparing
learners for the evolving technology-driven job market.
Speaking during the training, facilitators emphasized the importance of AI literacy
in education and encouraged trainers to integrate digital technologies into teaching,
research, and innovation activities.
Taita Taveta National Polytechnic continues to position itself as a center for digital
excellence by embracing emerging technologies and supporting capacity-building
initiatives that promote innovation, employability, and online work opportunities
for both trainers and students.
